back to Palm :) :); suggestions

Back to Palm (ahh…the T3 is essentially perfect, even given my switching
among enormous DBs!)

Couple ideas:
1) would be helpful to be able to delete a file from within viewing a file,
from the "info" box yoq see from the main file list.
2) what if %d and %t could be used (for date, time) as part of the
filename for iSiloX? That would give the basic functionality of saving
multiple downloads (as I've recommended before…) and would be very little coding!
3) is there any way to run isilo passing it the name of a doc on a card and having it view that doc WITHOUT having that doc copiedt to main memory? Even TealAlias won't do this! A shame since iSilo is vfs compliant…

1. While viewing a document, you can go to the Edit menu, tap Details, and then tap Delete to delete the document you are viewing.

no way to pass filename to isilo...

So PLEASE consider the following:

A little util that will create a .PRC that runs iSilo and loads a given file.

The benefits are numerous.

1) Since so many of us (especially in medicine!) use iSilo for such a vast variety of things (eg, medical text, DSM4, newsclips, etc) that we will want to see immediately at any given time in the day, the most commonly used docs will be available immediately (from launcher or HW button)...

2) We finally will be able to run large files off of the card without using a utility that must copy the file to main memory first (which is unnecessary as iSilo is VFS compliant and insane because it doesn't make sense to copy a 6MB file to main memory every time you want to use it!)...

Please take this as a plea from someone who's owned iSilo on Palm and PocketPC and upgraded on both platforms multiple times and gotten others on the iSilo-over-AvantGo bandwagon and encouraged many residents and medical students to get the iSilo-only medical text Clinical Medical Consult and shown psych residents that iSilo enables you to carry the DSM and APA practice guidelines with you at all times! :cool:

Okay, so you didn't go for that one :)...

So PLEASE consider the following intermediate solution!

Give us a little stub of a program called "iSilo Library" that, when launched, directly opens the file list (rather than first loading the previous document, etc). At least this will greatly reduce the waiting/steps required to get to a particular document!

BTW, the ZLauncher folks say they would gladly add the functionality of being able to pass a PDB on the card to iSilo if that were something iSilo were made to be able to handle!
