I have a T-Mobile SDA smartphone synched to a laptop using Activesynch 4.1, which is the preferred option according to T-Mobile, and I want to install Isilo to read documents designed for Isilo. I tried to install the ARM cab file for Windows Mobile Smartphone via copying the file to my mini SD card and running it from the phone app manager but it was not recognised as a proper file type for the operating system. I read another post that concluded that the Isilo setup for Pocket PC should be used instead of the setup for Windows Mobile Smartphone, so will the Pocket PC setup/file be installed by using the Activesynch to load it to the phone? What is the proper procedure to load the app, and where should the document files be stored, and how should the document files be loaded on the phone?

The SDA is a Windows Mobile Smartphone device, so "iSilo for Windows Mobile Smartphone" is the proper product. "iSilo for Pocket PC" is not compatible with Windows Mobile Smartphone device. It is only for Windows Mobile Pocket PC devices.
There are two options for installing:
1. If you are running Windows on the computer to which you connect your device via ActiveSync, you can download and run the .exe setup file on your Windows computer, which will result in iSilo being installed to your device if it is currently connected or if not, the next time you connect via ActiveSync.
2. The second option is to download the CAB file and run it from your device using a file manager to run the file.
To copy files to your device, you can connect it via ActiveSync. In the ActiveSync window, you can click Explore to access the file system of your device and copy files to any accessible location. You can use iSilo to open a file located anywhere on your device that is normally accessible to programs, but you will probably want to store all your iSilo files in one place such as "\My Documents\iSilo" either in the internal storage memory of your device or on a memory card.

Dear Isilo, I tried the setup as you quoted from a previous post on this forum and as I mentioned in my post, however I still got an error message that the file was not suitable for this device. Moreover, my email functionality was wiped out on the SDA and a full hard reset was required as well as a complete delete and reconfiguration of my T-Mobile email setup. Not fun. Hours on hold with tech support. I don't think the SDA is happy with Isilo. Also on another thread it is mentioned that the Pocket PC setup is the correct one with Windows Mobile 5.0. Hope someone else can share a successful install story.

Windows Mobile 5.0 comes in two versions, Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Windows Mobile Smartphone.
For devices that run the Pocket PC version, including the Pocket PC Phone Edition version, of Windows Mobile 5.0, then the Pocket PC version of iSilo would be the platform version to use.
For devices that run the Smartphone version of Windows Mobile 5.0, then the Smartphone version of iSilo would be the platform version to use.
The T-Mobile SDA is a Windows Mobile Smartphone device, not a Windows Mobile Pocket PC device.

Success! I had downloaded the CAB to the mSD card and tried to install it from there. I guess that caused the original problem because this time when I loaded the CAB on the card I used the file manager to move it to the device program folder and from there it installed flawlessly. Makes me happy :) :)

The Treo 700w is a Pocket PC device, so make sure you install the Pocket PC platform version of iSilo and not another platform version.
