I have the following problem:
I use a Palm Tunsten T3, sometimes when I view a document it appears in grayscale.
Closing and opening the document one or two time shows it again in color.
I use Isilo 4.01.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks.

Is it just the images or does the text also appear in grayscale?

Now that you mention it...

I have noticed identical behavior in my use. I am not sure if the text is grayscale; I never thought to check. As the original post states, closing and opening the document would remedy this condition.

I will add the following observation:

In my experience, this behavior only occurs when the document was created using lossy compression (probably in the 25-35 range for me). Losslessly-compressed or uncompressed documents have never produced the same behavior.

Further information:

Palm Zire 71, iSilo 4.01, using FontSilo fonts

I have never thought to post before because the issue is so minor (in my opinion).

Since the original text is black I don't know.
Next time it happens I will see if the hyperlinks are black as well.

After a few weeks of not having this problem, yesterday it happened twice.

I paid extra attention and it is only the graphics that are grayscale. Hyperlinks in the text are still blue, and background colors in the document are still there. It is just logo's and pictures.
Closing the document and opening it again shows it in full color again.

I have the same problem, also on a T3. As far as I remember, it's only the images that are grey. Next time it happens, I'll check the text color.

This happens most often with a large, 8MB document that has several hundred images embedded in it, though I have noticed it in other, simpler, documents occasionally.

I now have a Garmin Ique 3600 and the same problem. This is a 4.5 Mb size document.

Would you be able to zip up that 4.5MB document and email it to http://www.iSilo.com/img/email.jpg so that we can try to reproduce the problem?

I will mail it to you, as soon as I encounter the problem.
To explain: This document I make twice a day with IsiloX, it's a website with news. So two times a day I have a different file, and I will make shure you'll get one which has the problem.

Thanks,
Marco.

I just mailed a file to you.

Marco.

Thanks for sending the file. It turns out that the condition under which the issue occurs is when a black and white lossy compressed image is displayed before a color lossy compressed image. The color image then loses its color and displays in black and white. This issue will be fixed in the next update.

I hadn't noticed that pattern before, but I suppose that is it. Thanks! Now I can use lossy images again. ;)
