View Full Version : What's the deal with spacing in converted Word documents ?

 I have created a large pdb file (470 K) based on htm pages created in Word 2003 that we plan to market. For the most part, it works pretty well. However, the spacing of some text characters is driving me crazy.
I use Arial 10-point font throughout the document.

In an unpredictable fashion the text will appear like this:

NAMEindication

Even though when you look in Word, I have it set to appear this way:

NAME indication

(sometimes "NAME" is bolded, others times it doesn't make a difference, and the space is dropped anyways).
Most of the time its fine, but it seems randomly (and not infrequently) throughout my pdb document the proper spacing has disappeared.
Has anyone else encountered this ? Any systematic solutions used to fix it ?
Right now, its necessitating me going through all the pages looking for these dropped spaces, and editing each one in Word by adding a second space to make it look normal on iSilo.

Thanks,

It probably has something to do with the space not really being a normal space character. Would you be able to post a small sample HTML file for which this happens?
