View Full Version : Problems dragging in Palm TX

I recently bought a Palm TX (PalmOS Garnet 5.4.9) to replace my Tungsten T. I installed iSilo (first 4.28 and later 4.29) and then brought the 256MB SD card over from the Tungsten and restored the _iSiloDocSettingsDB_ database to have the categorisation of all the documents on the card.

Under Options-Region I have regions 2 and 3 set to 'Drag'. However, this functionality only works sporadically. Sometimes I tap and drag in the correct area of the document and it moves correctly, following the stylus. More often nothing happens at all. When I tap in the regions defined as "Screen up" and "Screen down" it works correctly all the time. If I set all four regions to "Drag" I see the same inconsistent behaviour. If I set all four to "Screen up/down" I get 100% reliable operation.

Sometimes if I tap and drag the stylus up and down the display will move sporadically, following and stopping at random during the same continuous drag action.

I suspect this is an issue with the new OS since I am seeing exactly the same behaviour on Bible+ which has a similar dragging functionality.

The only 'system level' utilities I have running are Buttons Ex and FindHack and the problem persists with FindHack disabled.

I'm sorry, I have posted this in the wrong forum

We don't at present have a TX that we can attempt to reproduce the problem on. Can anyone else with a TX confirm the behavior?

Double-check that you have onscreen Graffiti off (the icon with the squiggly line). Also check that you are not tapping on a link when you attempt to drag.

I definitely do not have the onscreen Graffiti on, I turned it on and off to verify this. Also there were no links in several of the documents I tested with.

We have been attempting to reproduce the dragging problem on an actual Palm TX, but have not been successful in reproducing the issue.

Really? My Palm TX has had that issue from day one. Dragging does not work at all, even after checking Button config, etc.

My old Tapwave Zodiac 2 would also have sporadic problems with dragging.

I also have the same problem with my TX and dragging. It will work for about 1-2 seconds then nothing.

Palm TX, iSilo registered 4.32, dragging works just fine for me.

DO you have an IR keyboard? When this happens on my T5 it's becuase the keyboard driver was left on "detect" and it hogg's the processor. Also double check the 'beam-receive' is not impacting this... :)
