Unable to convert from GB to B5

I have been trying to do that in so many different versions of iSiloX.

What I am trying to do is to convert webpages in any GB encoding in to B5 and I know how to set the encoding options.

I am able to convert from pages in B5 to B5, GB to GB and so on no problem, but whenever I try to do a GB to B5 the output pdb would be part ??? and part that is readable.

From what I understand the part with ??? are the chars in GB not being converted to B5 that are usually in simplified form, and the part that are readable are those chars in GB usually in traditional form already.

So has anyone ever successfully done a GB to B5 from webpages before, if so please share with me coz it's been a puzzle for me for years now. :confused: Thanks.

iSiloX does not provide the functionality of converting simplified characters to traditional characters. The functionality you are asking for is a little like saying convert all lowercase alphabetic characters to uppercase alphabetic characters. In other words, a lowercase character is distinct from its meaningfully equivalent uppercase characters in terms of its generally accepted visual representation. The same analogy holds for simplified verses traditional Chinese characters.

The transcoding capability is for having the content represented in the encoding that the platform on which you will be reading the document supports, but if there is no character in the target encoding to represent a given character, then a question mark will be subsituted in its place.
