I just now upgraded to 4.01, so I am not exactly sure what the display settings are, but when I was using 3.35 (literally hours ago), when I would open a file in iSilo, certain lines were missing the last 1 or 2 letters. Strangely, I would often see half a letter, as if the display cut off in the middle of the letter. This was sometimes the last letter of a word and sometimes the second to last letter.

This file was a Bonsai outline that was exported as Doc format. My initial suspicion was to blame Bonsai for a corrupt output of some kind (it was a fairly long outline file). But when I switched the display in iSilo, to Standard font size, the truncating disappeared.

I tried exporting another file from Bonsai and the same problem occurred. I also tried exporting a very small/short file, and the problem remained.

Settings in 4.01:
Display >>
Layout: enable table layout
Text: Normal
Images: Normal
Encoding: windows-1252
Color: 64K
Mode: High density
Font Options >>
Default: Use defaults
Sans Serif: Use defaults
Serif: Use defaults
Monospace: Use defaults
Size: Smaller, Absolute

Setting the font size to Smaller or Smallest produces the truncated display. Medium or higher eliminates the problem.

Any idea what's going on?

Would you be able to upload a small sample converted document .pdb file and also provide a listing of what fonts you have installed on your device? It is possible that one of the font's you have installed is not providing correct font metrics or Font Silo may be having a problem with the font.

I think this is what is going on. I remembered that I am using a Font4TT app that allows me to use Sony fonts on my Tungsten. This is a system-wide setting. When viewing Small fonts (on 3.35) and Smaller (4.01) the cut-off happens. But if I switch fonts - either with iSilo's font manager or using a program called FontSubt - I can correct the problem.
Unfortunately, I am using FontSubt on a trial basis and am not sure I want to keep it. And the fonts that I have available (via FontBucket) all render so tiny in iSilo that they are unusable. Even setting them at the Largest setting doesn't help - most of them don't change past the Medium setting anyway. Do you (or anyone) know why the fonts are all so tiny in iSilo?
I will follow up and post a list of installed fonts.

If the fonts you have are tiny, it is probably because they were originally designed for low-resolution 160x160 screens. This is of course great for thsoe who want to fit more information onto a single screen at a time, but of course, not so great for other uses. Check to see whether there are high resolution versions available.

Advanced Font Viewer is a program with the user-friendly interface that allows simultaneous viewing of all fonts installed on a system. An example text for each font is displayed alongside. The program allows managing and printing your fonts as well.

Ummm... that's great. (in fact, I downloaded the free version of the product)

But what does that have to do with how fonts are viewed on the Palm? Isn't this a *Windows* font viewer?

Yes, only for Windows.
