View Full Version : Problem with image

Hi all,
Somehow the image in my HTML file is not converted when I convert an HTML to PDB using the IsiloX. I used to be able to do that without problem, but now somehow I can't. I check on the properties and everything is fine, input image is allowed, etc.

Later while reading back the manual, I thought I have the problem solved, because the image in my HTML is 24bit color and the maximum Isilo can show is 16bit, so I lower down the quality of the images to 8bit 256 colors (just to be sure). But still doesn't work. All the text is converted, but not the images.

If I open the HTML file or the MS Word (original) there is no problem. The images are shown nicely. Oh yeah I already resize the images to fit my Treo (less than 320 x 320).

Your help is appreciated...

iSiloX will downsample 24-bits to 16-bits, so it is not an issue with the sample size.

What is the image file format (gif, jpg, other)? How is the URL of the image specified?

Would you be able to post the HTML file and the image file?

OK understood, thanks a lot, that saves a lot of work.

It is gif files.

Would you be able to post the HTML file and the image file?

Absolutely, please find them attached zipped. It's the minimized version of the original file (the original size is 5MB), would it be possible that the error is due to the file size?

Thanks for your help. Can't wait to have your answer.

Thanks for posting the sample files.

The HTML file does not use the HTML img tag for the images, but instead appears to use some Microsoft proprietary markup to specify the images. Did you perhaps change the version of Microsoft Word you used to save the file compared to before since you say it previously worked? It looks like the file was generated with Microsoft Word 2003? Maybe there is an option in your version of Word for specifying how images are saved?

Yes correct, I use the MS Word and then save it as web file. But I used to be able to do that (not the same file though). Because I found it easier to edit the document in Word, then just simply save it as a html.

So..? What's the solution to my problem? I still cannot get the image into the file. Tell me what to do...

Questions from before that you did not answer: Did you perhaps change the version of Microsoft Word you used to save the file compared to before since you say it previously worked? It looks like the file was generated with Microsoft Word 2003? Maybe there is an option in your version of Word for specifying how images are saved?
