Cannot create categories, etc in Sony UX50

Palm OS5, Sony Clie UX50, ISilo version 4.25

I moved all my “daily” documents from a 128MB memory stick to one 1GB. Since I had enough space. I loaded a very large number of documents (110 documents converted with IsiloX). These documents are in Palm/Programs/Isilo

I also have installed Documents ToGo (DXTG folder with 54 documents) and since the UX50 has Picsel Viewer the MSFILES folder is loaded with 264 documents plus 18 subfolders totaling 268MB.

I have Zlauncher installed.

After installing the loaded memory stick in the unit, I launched ISilo, selected the documents I wanted ISilo to list (only ISilo) and started to categorize some new documents. The application crashed, freezing the unit, after classifying a few new documents. After the soft reset some of the preferences were lost (bookmarks and categories) while all the settings were still saved.

Now, I cannot create any new category and if I tap tools/edit favorite folders the unit freezes at the screen (no error message)

The settings database has probably somehow been corrupted. So you will either have to delete it or restore from a backup if you have one. If you did not perform a HotSync after the crash happened, then you should be able to find the version from the last HotSync in the Backup directory within a directory named similar to your HotSync name in the directory where you installed Palm Desktop. The name of the settings database is _iSiloDocSettingsDB_.PDB.

Assuming you the scenario where you are able to restore from a previously known good backup of the settings database, then it would help to make a copy of that backup. Then if the problem happens again and it turns out that there are a sequence of steps that can be used to reproduce the problem again, then it would help in tracking down the cause of the problem.
