I have a Handspring PDA that has iSilo docs with local bookmarks. I would like to copy those docs to a Palm PDA, while retaining the local bookmarks.

Are there ways this could be done, short of changing each local bookmark into a global one, beaming the documents, and then changing each one back to local? :( If not, is there a way to change local bookmarks into global ones, and vice versa, in a batch fashion?

I'm running iSilo version 3.11 on the Handspring, and version 4.26 on the Palm.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Does the destination PDA already have information on it? If not, then you might consider copying over the entire iSilo settings database.

Thank you for your response. I imagine that the iSilo settings database exists in two places -- on the PDA as well as on the computer. If you are referring to the database file on the PDA, I do not know how to access or copy it.

On the computer I see an "_iSiloDocSettingsDB_" database file in the backup folder for the Palm PDA. Looking at the backup folder for the Handspring PDA I don't see a similar file. (Perhaps the earlier version of iSilo saved its settings by an alternate means?)

Would upgrading iSilo on the Handspring, so that it creates an "_iSiloDocSettingsDB_" database file, and then installing that file onto the Palm PDA be the way to go, or is there an easier way to do this?

Again, your help is greatly appreciated.

_iSiloDocSettingsDB_ is only created on the PDA by iSilo in the internal storage memory of the PDA. HotSync by default automatically backs up all databases in the internal storage memory to the Backup directory of the computer to which you perform a HotSync whenever you perform a HotSync.

Versions of iSilo prior to version 4.05 created a database named _iSiloSettingsDB_. If you install iSilo version 4.05 or later and there is not already a database named _iSiloDocSettingsDB_, then iSilo creates the _iSiloDocSettingsDB_ database, transferring information from the _iSiloSettingsDB_ database.

So yes, what you say about upgrading iSilo on the Handspring first should work in creating the _iSiloDocSettingsDB_ database and then copying that over to the Palm.
