Greetings,

I'm a long-time iSilo user, but new to pocket pc. I'm running iSilo 4.27 on an HX4700 with WM2003SE. I accepted all the defaults when I installed iSilo.

I have iSilo set up so that most of the files are on a 1gByte SD card. Everything has worked fine until yesterday when I used isilox to grab three articles off the internet (nothing new there, either -- I've dozens of articles grabbed the same way).

I moved the articles from ipaq file store to my sd isilo directory and then started isilo. I tapped on the categories icon and it came up to [All], but only showed the three new articles. In addition, the display keeps refreshing. If I click on List -> Refresh, the displayed list remains the same. If I click on the favorites icon, however, I can see all my files.

If I leave iSilo running with the display refreshing I eventually get a message that I am critically low on main memory. I stopped iSilo and rebooted (soft reset) at that point.

This is 100% consistent and repeatable.

I decided to try installing 4.28b2, but the only difference that made is that the iSiloDisplaySample document showed up (so now I have 4 files showing in [All]).

I'm stuck now. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Rick.

It sounds like it could be a corruption in the SD card. You might want to try backing up the contents of your SD card to your desktop computer's hard drive, reformatting the SD card, and then copy everything back to the card.

Hi,

I copied everything to my hard drive and then did a regular format (i.e. NOT quick format) on the SD card and then copied everything back. It still has the same problem. What should I try next?

Thanks,
Rick.

Giving this some more thought, it might have to do with thrashing of the list caused by a low settings size limit. So try this:

1. Go to the Tools menu and tap Options.
2. In the Options dialog, tap the Settings tab.
3. Increase the "Space to use limit" setting. By default it is 100KB. Double what you have.
4. Tap OK in the upper right.

Please see if doing the above solves the problem.

I went to Tools -> Options -> Settings (tab) and changed the value to 200, clicked okay.

There was no apparent difference, but I closed iSilo (making sure that it was really stopped) and then did a soft reset. Still no difference.

I did notice this time that what appears in the [All] list fluctuates from time to time. It looks like it is only the most recent files, but I really have not noticed if there is a pattern in which files show, nor have I noticed what causes the list to change.

If I change from [All] to a specific category the list appears stable (and correct), but if I change it back to [All] it starts acting up again.

Thanks,
Rick.
