Hello,

I'm newbie in SD cards and Palm. I did read in iSilo Manuals that iSilo files can be stored in external memory and it will be archived in /Palm/Programs/iSilo folder in the SD card.
I can't scroll into the directory structure of the card through the Palm, so I don't know if this directory already exist, or how to create it.
Also, I don't know if the iSilo files will be automatically stored in the card during the hotsynch or I must do something special to do so.
Any help will be welcome.

Thank you

Here are a few of the ways to get documents into the /Palm/Programs/iSilo directory of the card:

iSiloX: When you use iSiloX to convert a document and specify that it be queued for installation to the card, the document will be installed in the /Palm/Programs/iSilo directory of the card during the next HotSync. The directory will be created automatically if it does not yet exist.
iSilo: When you use iSilo to copy a document to the card, the default destination location shown is /Palm/Programs/iSilo. The directory will be created automatically if it does not yet exist.
Card reader/writer: If you have a memory card reader/writer for your desktop computer, you can use it to access a memory card like a disk drive and create the /Palm/Programs/iSilo directory on the card and copy documents to it directly.
iSilo automatically checks for documents in the /Palm/Programs/iSilo directory of the card and adds them to its document list. So there is no specific need to navigate to that directory in any way.

Thank you very much for your fast answer. An excelent support.

There is an one more issue: I found a variety of iSilo files in the Web. I'll download them and make a HotSync. Will the HoSync save the downloaded iSilo files directly in /Palm/Programs/iSilo folder? How the system knows that these files must be save in that directory?

Thank you again

The HotSync process queues .pdb files to either the internal memory or to the /Palm/Launcher directory. After doing so though, you could start up iSilo and move the files to the /Palm/Programs/iSilo directory from iSilo's document list view by using the Copy mode from the lower left.

Hmmm...

There is no citation about it in the manual (at least I didn't find it).
So, if I understand well, every time that I'll HotSync an iSilo file to Palm, I'll need to copy it to /Palm/Programs/iSilo directory through iSilo app and, after that, delete the original from the handheld memory to save space.

If I'm correct, please let me suggest the development of a dedicated conduit from a specific folder in the desktop that should be created during the iSilo setup, that will directly transfer the file(s) to the /Palm/Programs/iSilo directory in the card during the HotSync.

This will save space and time, specially if one have a lot of iSilo files to manage.

Thank you very much. Again, an excelent and really fast support.
