Please, help,
I am new at making russian texts for reading on my Palm.
I use Palm OS 5.x. I installed CyrHack V. I can read russian texts that I download from Palm library.
However, when I use iSiloX and do the following sequence:
- use Microsoft Word and save russian text as .html file
- use iSiloX and convert file
the resulting .pdf file is synchronized (i.e. I can see that it is transferred to my Palm), but I can't see it in neither my iSilo or any other reader as a file to open.
I would ask you help in describing the detailed sequence of steps to do to create readable russian text in iSilo (or may be any other reader for Palm).
What I am doing wrong?
Thank you very much in advance.
Larry

Try changing the category to All so that you can see documents in all categories. Also, check your HotSync log for any errors in installing the file. Try those suggestions.
What is the result of the above suggestions?
What version of the iSilo and iSiloX are you using?
Are you installing the files to the internal memory or to a memory card?

I have All as a category selector. I use iSilo v. 2.58 and iSiloX v. 4.01.
I am not sure what fonts I need to have installed on my Palm.
Log after HotSync indicate that file test2.pdb was installed (I can also see it in the file manager of my Palm - installed on internal memory.
Could you suggest further actions, please.
Thank you.

iSilo version 2.58 can not view documents in iSilo 3.x/4.x format, which is what iSiloX 4.01 generates. You need iSilo version 3.0 or later to view such documents.

Dear helper,
Thank you for your advice. Used iSilo 4.01 to read file generated by iSiloX 4.01. Was successful in recognising the file, but it all look like jibberish.
In one case - all question marks instead of the letters (if default option is used in iSiloX), in another - strange font (when Cyrillic Win is used as an option on iSiloX).
Thanks in advance.

A couple of suggestions:
If the source content does not specify it's encoding, you will need to specify what it is.
You should determine what encoding the Cyrillic software you are using supports and set the output encoding to that encoding.

Hi!
There is a little problem when i convert html with cyrillic characters in name and cyrillic characters in the name of folder. The iSiloX 4.xx converter is printing errors what it can't find source, like this:
Unable to open: file:///%some_path%/hard'n'soft/ IP[here must be cyrillic characters] Windows 2000 XP - 3DNews_files/index.css
But the iSiloX 3.35 converter converts this pages without a problem.
How to solve this problem?

Would you be able to post the source HTML file that refers to that .css file as an attachment to your reply? Please zip it first, then post the zip.
