View Full Version : Converting from a "password required" site
1. I often receive information from a site that requires a password to sign in. I find that Isilo will not convert these documents. What to do?

Most sites that require a password to sign in use a form where you enter a user name and password. Unfortunately, iSiloX does not support entering data into generic forms, so you will not be able to at least directly convert the information. If the site uses a secure connection (e.g., https), it is definitely not possible. If the site uses a non-secure connection (e.g., http) and the site uses a cookie to maintain your login information, then it may be possible if you can figure out what the cookie is. Do a search for cookies on the forum might help if you are unfamiliar with cookies.

iSiloX only appears to works properly when the page requesting the password is the entry page (target). But when the page is deeper in the server it is not working. I ever added two targets within the same server - one that directly requests the username/password and another one that let you enter but has link to many pages requesting authentication. This second set of pages are not working. I don't even get error message from iSiloX.
I entered the username/password in the Access tab and enabled Receving/Sending Cookies. Am I doing anything wrong? What else is missing?

Would you be able to provide the URL of the site so that we can take a look?

Before paying my subscription I had excluded the path to the paid pages - to avoid errors. Yesterday I paid my subscription and tried pulling the paid pages for the first time, but forgot to remove the exclusion. I discovered it by accident when checking then .ixl file directly.
Obviously, it worked if I included the page explicitly as the entry page because it took precedence over exclusions list.
Thanks.
